This Product Disclaimer forms part of the Terms of Service of MODDED AUTOMOTIVE LIMITED.
By purchasing, booking installation, or proceeding with any product supplied by us, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted this Product Disclaimer in full prior to purchase.
This disclaimer applies to all aftermarket and OEM automotive products supplied and/or installed by MODDED AUTOMOTIVE LIMITED.
1 – GENERAL AFTERMARKET PRODUCT DISCLAIMER
Aftermarket products are not manufactured, endorsed or authorised by any vehicle manufacturer unless expressly confirmed in writing.
Customers acknowledge that aftermarket products:
• May differ from original factory specification
• May not match OEM materials, finish or software integration
• May require coding or configuration
• May not replicate factory behaviour exactly
• May vary depending on vehicle model and software version
Minor cosmetic imperfections, slight colour variation, small fitment tolerances, software inconsistencies or intermittent notifications are considered normal within the automotive modification sector and do not constitute defects unless a clear hardware failure is present.
2 – OEM PRODUCT DISCLAIMER
OEM products supplied may be:
• New
• Used
• Refurbished
• Reconditioned
• Modified
Unless explicitly confirmed in writing, OEM products are not guaranteed to be brand new.
Used or refurbished OEM parts may show minor cosmetic wear including light scratches or signs of prior installation. Cosmetic wear that does not affect functionality does not constitute a defect.
3 – ELECTRONIC & SOFTWARE DEPENDENCY
Many products rely on vehicle software integration. Functionality depends on:
• Vehicle hardware specification
• Existing control modules
• Software version
• Coding compatibility
Software-based systems may occasionally require reset procedures, display temporary notifications, or behave differently following manufacturer software updates.
Such behaviour does not constitute product failure unless a hardware malfunction is present.
4 – CONNECTIVITY & SIGNAL LIMITATIONS
Products relying on wired or wireless connectivity, including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth audio, WiFi modules and camera systems, depend on external factors beyond our control.
Performance may be affected by:
• Mobile phone model and operating system
• Software updates
• Signal interference
• Network congestion
• Environmental conditions
• Cable quality
Customers acknowledge that occasional disconnections, slight latency, or temporary instability may occur.
Connectivity fluctuations do not constitute hardware defects unless repeatable under controlled testing conditions.
5 – MANUFACTURER SOFTWARE UPDATES
Vehicle manufacturer updates or dealership diagnostics may:
• Remove coding
• Reset installed features
• Disable retrofitted functions
• Trigger warning messages
MODDED AUTOMOTIVE LIMITED is not responsible for changes caused by manufacturer or third-party software updates.
Reconfiguration may be offered at additional cost where possible.
6 – COMPATIBILITY RESPONSIBILITY
Compatibility depends on model, year, factory specification, installed hardware and software level.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate vehicle information.
Incompatibility resulting from incorrect or incomplete information does not constitute grounds for refund where the supplied product matches the information provided.
7 – VEHICLE DATA
Installation or coding procedures may reset vehicle settings.
Customers are responsible for backing up stored data including media, navigation history and personal preferences.
We are not liable for loss of vehicle data.
PRODUCT CATEGORY SPECIFIC DISCLAIMERS
8 – STEERING WHEELS
This section applies to all custom, aftermarket and modified OEM steering wheels.
Custom Orders
Custom steering wheels are bespoke products.
Once an order has been processed or production has commenced, it cannot be cancelled. Custom steering wheels are non-refundable.
OEM Functionality
Installation may result in loss or alteration of certain OEM functions depending on vehicle specification.
This may include:
• Heated steering functionality
• Vibration or lane assist feedback
• Steering wheel buttons
• Paddle shifters
• Driver assistance integration
Full OEM functionality cannot be guaranteed unless confirmed in writing.
Airbags
Unless explicitly stated:
• Airbags are not included
• Original airbags must be transferred
Where supplied, airbags may be aftermarket, reconditioned or non-OEM unless expressly confirmed otherwise.
Non-OEM airbags may differ cosmetically from factory units.
Materials & Finish
Leather, Alcantara and carbon fibre may exhibit natural variation in texture, colour tone and weave pattern.
Such variation does not constitute a defect.
Normal wear and tear is not covered under warranty.
9 – DIGITAL CLUSTERS / VIRTUAL COCKPITS
Digital cluster retrofits depend on vehicle compatibility and software integration.
Data Accuracy
Displayed values including fuel range, oil temperature, coolant temperature, fuel consumption and other statistics may not be 100 percent identical to factory calibration.
Minor variation in displayed information does not constitute product failure.
Loss of OEM Functionality
Installation may alter or remove certain OEM behaviours including:
• Indicator click sounds
• Warning chimes
• Cruise control display behaviour
• Driver assistance graphics
Exact replication of factory behaviour cannot be guaranteed.
Display Characteristics
Minor brightness variation, tone differences or boot delays may occur and are not considered defects unless hardware failure is present.
10 – EXTERIOR LIGHTING
Applies to headlights, taillights and DRL systems.
Condensation
Temporary condensation or misting may occur due to temperature changes.
This is normal and does not constitute a defect unless persistent water pooling occurs.
Beam Pattern & Fitment
Aftermarket lighting may differ from OEM in beam pattern, brightness and colour temperature.
Minor panel gap tolerances may occur.
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure compliance with road regulations and MOT standards.
Wiring & Errors
OEM wiring may require extension or adaptation.
Dashboard warning messages may appear and may require coding.
Vehicle software limitations may prevent complete elimination of warnings.
Colour Switching DRLs
Colour-switching DRLs may briefly display a default colour on start-up.
Colour can typically be restored via the standard switching procedure.
This behaviour is normal.
11 – SCREENS / INFOTAINMENT / CARPLAY MODULES
Infotainment systems integrate with existing vehicle hardware.
Connectivity
Occasional disconnections, switching delays or brief black screens during system changeover are normal within aftermarket systems.
Audio & Microphone
Audio output may differ from OEM systems.
Microphone echo may occur depending on phone model, cabin acoustics or signal conditions.
Such variations do not constitute hardware defects.
Boot Behaviour
Slightly longer boot times or manual switching requirements are normal.
12 – REVERSE CAMERAS & PARKING SYSTEMS
Reverse cameras are driver assistance aids.
Guidance Lines
Aftermarket guidance and steering angle lines may not be 100 percent accurate compared to OEM calibration.
Minor deviation does not constitute product failure.
Activation & Deactivation
The camera may take a few seconds to launch.
The display may remain active briefly after shifting.
This behaviour is normal.
Image Quality
Low-light performance, slight delay or environmental impact on image clarity does not constitute hardware defect.
13 – SAFETY & LEGAL COMPLIANCE
All modifications must comply with local road regulations and insurance requirements.
Customers are responsible for informing their insurer of vehicle modifications.
MODDED AUTOMOTIVE LIMITED accepts no liability for regulatory or insurance implications.
FINAL ACCEPTANCE
By proceeding with purchase or installation, the customer confirms that they:
• Understand the nature of aftermarket and modified OEM products
• Accept potential loss of OEM functionality
• Accept connectivity and compatibility limitations
• Accept cosmetic and performance variation
• Accept manufacturer update risks
